The September 16, 2026 meeting of the Mount Holly Urban Enterprise Zone [UEZ] featured a unanimous approval for a $10,000 grant application by the Village Idiot Brewing company. The application was for improvement of its High Street façade as pictured below. Vince Amico of the UEZ said that “What they have done in the back of the building is incredible. They have done a great job. And looking at the plans submitted by the Village Idiot, I am completely in favor of this grant.” Deputy Mayor DiFolco praised the design of folding windows that would accordion together along a single track and be virtually out of sight when opened onto High Street.
UEZ Director Sean Kennedy stated that the grant would help fund “new siding, windows, trim and a centralized single door. Currently they have two doors, but use only one.”
The Reporter sought to obtain comment from owner Vince Masciandaro but he was not available. Looking for historic information about the Village Idiot on the web, it appears that the business has been in operation from 2013 or 2011, depending on which web page you believe. This general timeframe agrees with the personal experience of The Reporter. I have frequented the Village Idiot and can personally attest to its wide variety of quality brewed offerings and its popularity in the community.
