SUMMARY: Interstate Waste Service [IWS] keeps breaking its promise to place carts back on the sidewalk out of the lane of traffic. An IWS worker told The Mount Holly Reporter that “we don’t have to put the carts back on the sidewalk”. West bound Garden Street has no shoulder and an exceptionally slender lane. The Reporter informed Township Manager Josh Brown of these facts and asked him to contact IWS to determine if indeed they have a policy to leave trash carts in traffic. Brown responded that he was “not sure” about the problem and has not responded to follow up email. In an effort to convince Mr. Brown that there is an actual problem, The Reporter recorded video of IWS removing carts from the sidewalk and leaving them in the west bound lane of oncoming traffic.
