Friends of The Burlington County Animal Shelter [FOBCAS] run a cat shelter at 84 Mill Street which is lovingly referred to as “The Hissy Hut”. FOBCAS gives friendly felines a new chance of finding a forever home. See their Facebook page at the following link: Hissy Hut
If you missed the Hissy Hut on you last trip down Mill Street, it is unlikely that it will escape you eyes the next time you pass. Local artist Susan Crawford was commissioned by Main Street Mount Holly [ Main Street ] to paint a delightful mural at The Hut which is bright and captures the joy of owning a cat.
Main Street is responsible for a number of the murals in Mount Holly, like the one just completed next to the gazebo across from Vincent’s icecream. You may have noticed some of Susan Crawford’s other work in town which features the the buzzard “Scrappy” who urges all residents to clean up after their dogs.
The Hissy Hut mural is nearly finished and I am already coveting the idea of having the mural on a t-shirt. The Scrappy t-shirt has been getting snapped up by residents and I think the Hissy Hut could be another popular item for Main Street.
