CHANGE AT THE REPORTER
WE ARE IMPLEMENTING A LONG SUGGESTED FORMAT CHANGE
Something like 45 percent of Reporter subscribers never open the emails they receive. This may mean they generally read headlines only. And our headlines attempt to summarize the article with the most important issue covered, so just reading a headline still informs.
But a persistent critique of The Reporter has been that our “deep dive” journalistic style is off-putting. Even some of the most detail focused people I know have said “the articles are too long. Break them up”. They have a valid point.
So, change is coming. You will notice that some of our articles will focus way more concisely than in previous months. This will mean that in some instances, there will be multiple stories in a “part A”, “part B” format. Its the same content delivered to you but in a modular approach.
